March 2024 Lecture – Dave Lillis (Limerick) – In The Shadow Of The Earth ‘A Trip Through 21st Century Lunar Eclipses’

For our next lecture in 2024, we are very pleased to have Dave Lillis from Limerick Astronomy Club, back with us for the second year running!
Dave is a really good friend of the NIAAS and his talks are very popular. This year, his talk is titled ‘In The Shadow Of The Earth – A Trip Through 21st Century Lunar Eclipses

This lecture will be held on Monday 4th March 2024, starting at 8pm sharp. Join us in our usual venue of Ballyclare High School Lecture Theatre.

About the talk:
A gentle walk through all the lunar eclipses visible from Ireland, so far in the 21st Century! The story, the pictures and the ones i’ve missed!

About Dave:
I’ve been an amateur astronomer since the mid 1980’s. I’m currently secretary of the Limerick Astronomy Club and my main interests are Deep Sky Object viewing and our Planets. I try to observe these with as big a telescope I can afford and carry (^^Editor: See Picture Above ^^)!
I also dabble in imaging. I will travel as far as it takes to get a good clear sky!

I’m sure you will join me in welcoming Dave back again to the NIAAS and if you didn’t get a chance to catch his talk last year, you won’t want to miss this one!

As usual, tea and biscuits will be served after the lecture so everyone can get a chance to catch up with a good chat!

I look forward to seeing you all there!
